Magicologist
noun | ma·gic·ol·o·gist
Like a mixologist combining ingredients, a Magicologist brings together different disciplines and experiences to spark curiosity, challenge assumptions, and inspire new ways of thinking.
The result? The magic of the Aha moment.
Leo Tonkin — The Magicologist

My fascination with magic began as a boy in South Florida. My father, a physician, understood how a little magic could put patients at ease and create a connection. He was also a regular visitor to Paul Diamond’s magic shop in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, and it was through those visits, along with the mentorship of Duke Stern, a legendary comedy magician associated with Abbott’s Magic Company, that I discovered a world of magic that would stay with me for a lifetime.
For more than three decades, I’ve worked with leaders, teams, and organizations through consulting, executive coaching, leadership development, and transformational learning experiences. Throughout that work, I’ve integrated magic as a way to engage people, challenge assumptions, and introduce distinctions that shift how people see, think, and act. I discovered that the real magic isn’t necessarily in the effect itself, but in what happens to the person experiencing it.
And something interesting happened. People began asking not just how the magic worked, but how they could learn to use magic themselves—in their presentations, meetings, conversations, and everyday interactions.
That’s what led to Magic@Work. An opportunity to share both the experience of magic and the ability to create those moments for others.
The surprise. The curiosity. The shift in perception. The Aha moment.
The Magic of the Aha Moment
Magic@Work brings that philosophy into everyday business interactions—from conversations over coffee to leadership workshops and presentations.
It’s about using magic not simply to entertain, but to connect, communicate, spark imagination, and help people see new possibilities.
That’s the art of the Aha moment.
Whether you’re exploring a presentation, a workshop, or simply curious about bringing magic into your own interactions, I’d welcome a conversation.
